Storytelling Documentary Wedding Photographer

My approach as a documentary wedding photographer is to capture the day organically, allowing events to unfold naturally while telling a story with every frame. While many photographers describe themselves as documentary-style, I believe it's important to explain my approach in more detail.

90 to 95 percent of the wedding photos I take are completely unposed and captured in a documentary style. However, I'm also happy to dedicate some time to essential group photos and portraits. As you'll see in my portfolio, I love capturing beautiful couple photos, especially during golden hour!

You'll never find me asking you to pose or alter your actions for the sake of a photo. I want the photos I deliver to be authentic and to reflect the day as it truly happened. I'll be in the right place at the right time to capture the important and predictable moments, but it's the spontaneous and unpredictable moments that bring me the most joy. Capturing a fleeting hug, kiss, or tear and freezing that moment forever is incredibly rewarding and helps to build a complete story of your wedding day.

To tell your story effectively, I use composition in various ways. Sometimes I'll step back to show the bigger picture, while other times I'll get close to capture intimate details. I also love to show context within my photos, including elements of the environment or reactions from guests that add significance and depth.

If you connect with my style and are planning a wedding, please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you and discuss your special day.
